Unit 2- Reading and Listening Comprehension: Meaning of Reading, Meaning of Comprehension, Reading Strategies, Unseen passage, Meaning of Listening, Listening Process, Listening types.

Unit 3- Antonyms, Synonyms, Homophones, Homonyms, Homographs, Introduction to Modal Auxiliaries (Can, Could, May, Might, Should, Must, Need, Ought to, Would, Could have, Should have, Would have, have to, had to, used to, dare to).

Unit 4- Writing Skills: Precise writing, Paragraph writing, Report writing, The Style : Importance of  professional writing, Curriculum vitae and Job applications, Interviews: kinds, Importance and process.

Unit 5- Premchand: The Shroud, Nissim Ezekiel: Night of the scorpion, George Orwell: Animal Farm.

Practical

1.      Listening Comprehension: Listening to short talk lectures, Speeches.

2.      Oral Communication: Conversation practice

3.      Reading Skills: Reading Dialogues, Rapid Reading.

4.      Conversation: Rate of speech, Clarity of Voice, Tongue Twisters.
